Thanks to the members of Emanuel, the church has been able to serve the community with a food pantry that has been solely stocked by the members. The average number of families who take advantage of the pantry is approximately 14 a month, this number includes approximately 43 people and 37 bags of food and staples.

Volunteers from Emanuel furnish and serve dinner on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Approximately 100 low income people are feed through this mission.

Emanuel, together with First Presbyterian, Prospect Street Methodist, and First United Church of Christ, held a Neighborhood Outreach Event on August 8, 2010. Invitations were hand-delivered to houses in the downtown community. The event included: free backpacks and school supplies; head checks for lice with coupons for free hair cuts; free hot dogs, chips and drinks; Police with K-9 dogs; games, face painting and Priase Teams will be performing throughout the day.

Emanuel, together with First Presbyterian, Prospect Street Methodist, and First United Church of Christ used the church parking lots for members to park, decorate their trunks in a Halloween theme, and distribute treats to the neighborhood children. Treats were dispensed to over 250 children last year. \n"); document.write("

On Thanksgiving Day, the members of Emanuel serve/deliver meals of turkey and ham with all the trimmings. In 2007, over 700 members of the community were fed their holiday meal by Emanuel Lutheran Church. This year we will be taking reservations (383-2184) for Carry-Out (11:00 to 1:00) and Delivery (11:00 to 2:00) until Wedesday, November 25. Everyone is welcome to join us at the church for a sit-down meal from noon until 4:00p.m.
